Drniš City Museum

The permanent exhibition of the Drniš City Museum includes the most valuable museum art collection of works by Ivan Meštrović.

In addition to its rich Collection of Works by Ivan Meštrović, the museum holds eight other collections covering a variety of themes, among which the Cultural and Historical Collection and the Archaeological Collection are the most extensive in terms of diversity and chronological scope. The Collection of Old Maps, Prints and Old Photographs includes graphic paper materials, while the Collection of Old Coins, Medals, Decorations, Badges and Plaques includes numismatics and objects of various themes, mostly honorary, memorial or commemorative in character. The more narrowly specialized collections consist of thematically related and, in most cases, similar types of objects: the Collection of Contemporary Art, the Collection of Weapons and Military Equipment, the Collection of Old Books dating up to 1860, and the Collection of Postcards.
The museum also has a rich archive containing a significant amount of material related to the history of the Drniš area. Its museum library is also valuable, preserving numerous rare editions as well as book materials from the private heritage of Dr. Filip M. Marušić and Nikola Adžija.
